Upcoming Overseas Adventure Tours
London Lax Challenge
July 27th - August 3rd, 2011
Take your women’s high school or club team to one of the most dynamic cities in Europe! Enjoy a bike tour through Central London, sing-a-long to a West End musical production and play a few games against other squads from all over the U.S.
This trip of a lifetime will allow teams to explore one of the most influential cities in history, and also form new friendships with other lacrosse enthusiasts. From visiting Henry VIII’s old residence to walking through Churchill’s underground Cabinet Rooms, these girls will have first hand insight into some of history’s most important leaders.
The London Lax Challenge is an ideal way for teams to experience another culture while also improving their lacrosse skills and playing other teams they would not otherwise compete against during the regular season. London Lax Challenge Itinerary:
Wednesday, July 27th
*Teams depart from various U.S. cities (teams book their own airfare)
Thursday, July 28th
*Arrive at London Heathrow Airport
*Teams are picked up and taken to their hotel in downtown London
*Bike tour around the city (route includes: Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben & Parliament, Hyde, St. James and Green Park and Princess Diana Memorial)
*Welcome dinner at hotel
Friday, July 29th
*Breakfast at hotel
*Tournament begins (each team plays one game)
*St. Paul’s Cathedral
*Tower of London
*Free night
Saturday, July 30th
*Breakfast at hotel
*Day 2 of tournament (each team plays one game)
*Free day
*Dinner in the West End theater district
*Choice of musical theater production: Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Wicked or Jersey Boys
Sunday, July 31st
*Breakfast at hotel
*Day 3 of tournament (each team plays one game)
*British Museum
*Oxford Street shopping
*Free night
Monday, August 1st
*Breakfast at hotel
*Day 4 of tournament (each team plays one game/championship game)
*Winston Churchill Museum/Cabinet War Rooms
Tuesday, August 2nd
*Breakfast at hotel
*Choice of day trip: Windsor Castle and Hampton Court Palace OR Windsor Castle and Oxford University
*Riverboat dinner on the Thames (final banquet)
Wednesday, August 3rd
*Breakfast at the hotel/check out
*Teams depart from London Heathrow Airport

-Westminster Abbey entrance
-Victoria and Albert Museum

-Jack the Ripper walking tour

-Buckingham Palace tour* (not always open to the public)
-Harrods department store and shopping on Knightsbridge
-Spitalfields Market (open on weekends)

This
is the package that we have put together for all of the teams.
If you are interested in booking more tours, activities etc.
we will be happy to accommodate your requests. The rate will
increase in proportion to the additional activities in which
you choose to participate.

Each player will receive a package
of information regarding restaurants; cafes, museums, and additional
entertainment that your teams may want to take advantage of
during your free time. We will be happy to book these events
for you once you arrive in July. The information will include
directions, prices and a brief description of each place/activity.

It
is our pleasure to put together package tours for parents and
other family members as well. Please email laurie@sherrysportstours.com for
further information regarding these packages.

While we promise
to organize a quality tournament and plan fun activities for
the teams, we remind you that SSTI staff members will not act
as chaperones for the players. Teams are responsible for providing
their own chaperones.
